Xiaolu Wu
Xiaolu is our Project Manager and has more than 15 years of HR experience in the hospitality industry, with a great passion for Learning and Development and Project Management.
Xiaolu’s colleagues would describe her as a reliable and trusted individual, who is friendly, fair, and driven for results.
Prior to becoming a freelance HR Consultant, Xiaolu was working as a Group HR Manager for an IHG franchise hotel group. She has also worked for almost 10 years at the award winning Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group, working as the stand-alone HR Manager at One Hyde Park, one of the most iconic luxury residences in the world. During her time with Mandarin Oriental, Xiaolu has also worked for the renowned Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park hotel, being involved in the opening of two high profile restaurants Bar Boulud and Dinner by Heston Blumenthal.
Xiaolu has experience in HR & L&D project management, HRIS system and Employee Engagement initiatives implementation, training design and delivery, residences and restaurant opening, recruitment, performance management, absence management, disciplinary and grievance, managing consultation and redundancy.
Her supportive style has encouraged colleagues to achieve their potential and succeed in their roles. Her collaborative HR approach has helped the company improve colleague engagement and employee retention each year.
Xiaolu is fluent in English, Mandarin and Cantonese. Apart from Mandarin Oriental, she has also worked with several other London five star hotels on Chinese projects such as Chinese Cultural Awareness Training, Chinese coaching sessions, and Business Chinese translation.
